| Color: Nice brick red. Not too bright.
Quality of Leather: It's a pebble leather that seems to be wrapped around a harder frame - though I'm not sure what the stiff frame is made of. It's matte and not a shiny or glossy pebble leather you might see on a handbag. But, when scratched with a nail, it doesn't reveal white lines which is good. I don't know if it can be oiled as strange as that sounds. It feels quite dry actually. There were no instructions on caring for the leather.
Price: Sorry Amazon and other vendors but I don't know why you're offering this at twice the price it can be purchased at the Case-Mate website. This item is teetering on being on clearance. It's about $79 and less if you buy it on discount. I would not pay $130 for this.
Not for new one piece aluminum case MacBook Pro: This is for the previous generations and frankly, if you have one of these and want a leather cover, you might want to try this because Case-Mate is not making anymore of this one. All of the cases they will make will be for the new MacBooks/Pros, etc.
Installation: Came without instructions. You just slip the computer in. The monitor part slips underneath two horizontal stretchy clear plastic-like holders. They are not really noticeable but I sorta think they should come up with a more clever concept.
Ports, etc.: All ports are left exposed. There is a cut out on the bottom I guess to relieve heat build-up. And the top part has a cut-out that exposes the Apple.
Overall: I think I'm gonna keep it. I would not be embarrassed to carry it around. It's very smart looking.
